Simon Benetton (Treviso 24/10/1933 - ivi 14/10/2016). Son and pupil of Toni Benetton, the iron was for Simon an endless world. He attended the courses of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, then he ventured into a solo, perfectly free individual research. He taught sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Macerata.
There are several periods of his training: from the figurative to the plastic flip in space, from the symbol of the impulse to the spatial dynamic, from the plate as agglomeration (human) to macro sculpyure as the element and expression of the will and the conquest of modern man. In recent studies, his sculpture has taken a new dimension, projecting the urban space with an expression of freedom and human progress. His sculpture is an exceptional testimony of the supremacy of man over matter.
Simon Benetton collaborates with state schools since 1989 in planning and developing programs in art, creativity and craftsmanship, giving lectures and practical demonstrations.
The sculptor Simon Benetton is well known in Italy and abroad. He has been invited to numerous international exhibitions and he received awards in various countries. His works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, in public spaces organized by institutions and Italian and foreign cities. Simon's work is characterized by a lucid and essential, strictly defined processing of metallic elements that shape their places of living. From earth to heaven, from near the end, the sculpture of Simon Benetton offers its dialogues with arcane applications, end-of synergy that becomes a latent physical truth. In Nervesa della Battaglia (TV) from 17/09 to 2/10/11, Simon Benetton presents for the first time the new theme of his artistic "Cosmic Energy" with the installation of fifteen works at the Council Chamber of City Hall: "Armonia tra ferro e luce a Nervesa. Opere di Simon Benetton".
From 16/10 to 15/01/12 a Retrospective exhibition at the Palazzo Simon Benetton of Valdobbiadene.
