JOOS ROBERTO
Roberto Joos (Gorizia 1926 - San Donà di Piave 1998) graduated at the arts high school in Venice where he moved in 1960. He exhibited for the first time in Gorizia at the age of 16 years old where he won a prize.
Painter and art critic, journalist of the Il Gazzettino, designer, illustrator and writer, he came to San Donà di Piave in 1981 after retirement.
Early artistic talent and skilled designer, he was a figure able to expand in various fields without any problems. After a short period of experimentation with the use of acrylic, he finally adopted oil.
The landscapes, the woman (naked), portraits, Venice, its lagoon and the subjects of religious art were his dominant themes. Including a mural at Col Cumano of Belluno and “Il giudizio dell’amore” in Mestre.His big painting in tempera is at middle school L. Schiavinato, illustrating the life of Lucia Schiavinato of San Donà di Piave, "Servant of God" and founder of the Small Huts. Joos has taught at the Vittorio Marussa Art Academy of San Donà di Piave.
He did more than 70 exhibitions and on invitation around two hundred exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Main exibitions and awards: 1945 Gorizia, 1946 Merano, 1956 Pavia Gorizia e Trieste, 1962 Premio Bibione, 1963 Galleria Bevilacqua La Masa Venezia, 1976 Pordenone e I Premio Pasti Eraclea, 1979 Premio Coletti, 1980 Cortina, 1993 Arte Padova e Percorsi d’arte Stra e Gorizia, 1998 II Premio Costantino Pavan di San Donà di Piave.
