..... for this the “Valigia” is remembered with an exibition, because it represented for the venic painters an acquaintance and agglomeration moment, not only “contarsi” (“telling stories”); it was an expression of searching and studino also of different way of thinkings and it was fecund and manufacturer of the artists of the last generation ........

I remeber that a day of the first 1950, a group of venice painters, as Seibezzi, Varagnolo, Neno Mori, Da Venezia, walked for the calli, for the
time for the traditional “ombretta and cicchetto” before lunch. To their arrival under the porch of the Vňlto one of they saw an old rather dilapidated fiber Valigia and the took to kick it. Varagnolo stopped him and said: “I want to make one miniature”.
The group approved with enthusiasm and from that day the Valigia passed hand by hand covering itself, inside and outside, of paints. Once finished, the Valigia was exposed at resyautant “Gorizia”, at Fabbri Calle, which became the headquarters of the Valiga painters.

On the 13 june of 1947, towards the 11 pm, one sculpture and two painters, all from Venice, were in an old tavern, situated at San Luca, called “Aurelio”. The owner pulled outside an old and consumed Valigia. One of the three artists gave a kick to the Valigia.
They arrived, kicking the defenseless Valigia, until the cafetiria Manin. It is whispered that the time was aroun 02 am.
Often the artists have with himself paint-brushes and colors, they decided to paint the Valigia. All three, with the pleasure of the exhibition, common to all the artists painted a part of the Valigia. They arrived at reastaurant “Gorizia”. It seems that the Valigia was given to Tiziano Alzetta, the owner.
The next day many painters still painted the Valigia. After this, it was found The Order of the Friends of the Valigia: Giogio Moretti, Gino Damerini, Domenico Varagnolo, Mario Novello, Brenno Geiger, Francesco Pospisil, Ugo Facco de Lagarda, Silvio Branzi, Terzio Ferrari, Chechi Zorzi cinfluirono. It was instituted the “Giacomo Faretto” Prize among and from many cultural manifestations is to remember the prize given to the painter Oskar Kokoschka.
The paintershad to disposition an inner room of the Restaurant “Gorizia” where were kept many reunions. In its likeable center, the “Valigia” organized ten collective exibitions and eighteen personals.
The activity of the associates was multiple and far-sighted; it organized prizes and evenings. it helped Italian painters and foreign, it organized prizes also with the aid of the Alzetta siblings.
