CAGNACCIO DI SAN PIETRO
Cagnaccio di S. Pietro, alias Natale Bentivoglio Scarpa, (Desenzano sul Garda 1897 - Venice 1946) attended the Venice Accademia di Belle Arti with Ettore Tito.
Moved in 1925 in Venice, he lived withdrew from the artistic circles and he was "shy" to official recognition. In 1923 he was part of the collective youth of Ca 'Pesaro and in 1924 at the Venice Biennale, where it will be also present in the years 1926 and 1930. In 1925 he is at Quadrennial in Rome and in 1927 he had a room at the collective Cà Pesaro. His exhibitions was from Turin, Genoa, Trieste, to abroad as in Germany.
Toni Toniato writes: "In Cagnaccio, in his painting, consciousness is present every time, subsumes itself 'the world of things, is recaptured in them constantly, but at the same time it shakes the evidence that came later at the peak representative the visual, of the represented, opens in a vacuum where every look is lost. "
The past exhibitions at the Museo Correr in Venice and for the centenary of the birth “La magia dello sguardo” at Palazzo Martinengo in Brescia.
